MORE THAN A MOMENT.
A SYSTEM FOR BEING SEEN.
DPL Perform turns observation into meaningful player insight, connecting coach nominations, live scouting and match analysis across the season.
It gives players a clearer view of their game and creates a consistent framework for recognition across the DPL.
ONE PLATFORM.
TWO OPPORTUNITIES.
The experience begins with identification, observation and insight. All-Star and International then operate as separate selection opportunities. One is not a prerequisite for the other.
IDENTIFIED
Coach nomination and Gold Pin recognition place a player into the identified-player pool.
OBSERVED
Live scouting provides another perspective at eligible DPL events throughout the season.
UNDERSTOOD
SciSports-supported analysis uses available eligible match footage to help create a season view.
A CURATED DOMESTIC EXPERIENCE
Selected players come together for Media Day, competition and connection.
AN ELITE GLOBAL EXPERIENCE
Selected players experience the game and its culture in an international environment.
RECOGNITION YOU CAN HOLD

Consistent footage uploads help DPL Perform continuously evaluate nominated players while creating a stronger body of work that can support their collegiate visibility.
THE DIGITAL GOLD PIN
RECOGNITION THAT BECOMES

COLLEGIATE VISIBILITY
MORE FOOTAGE.
MORE WAYS TO BE SEEN.
Uploaded matches help build player profiles supported by available footage and analysis, giving college programs another way to discover and evaluate prospective student-athletes.

TWO PLAYERS PER ROSTER
DPL Perform uses season-long observation and available SciSports-supported performance analysis to help inform the selection of two players per roster for the DPL All-Star Game.
Gold Pin recognition and participation in the DPL Perform platform do not guarantee All-Star, international or collegiate selection. Selection opportunities are separate and based on applicable program criteria.
CLEAR ANSWERS.
ONE STANDARD
DPL Perform is a season-long identification and recognition platform. These answers explain how players are nominated, observed and considered for All-Star and International opportunities.
RECOGNITION IS NOT A GUARANTEE
A Gold Pin recognizes entry into the DPL Perform identified-player pool. It does not guarantee All-Star, International, collegiate or any other selection.
THE PROGRAM
What is DPL Perform?
DPL Perform is a season-long player identification and recognition platform built into DPL competition. It combines coach nominations, live event scouting and available SciSports-supported performance insight to help players be seen and considered for additional opportunities.
Is DPL Perform a tryout?
No. Players are primarily evaluated while competing with their own club teams during eligible DPL competition. The program assesses players in real game environments instead of relying exclusively on a traditional tryout.
What are the Pin, Patch and Pennant?
The Gold Pin recognizes a coach nomination into the DPL Perform identified-player pool. The All-Star Patch recognizes selection and participation in the DPL All-Star experience. The International Pennant recognizes selection and participation in a DPL International experience.
Do players earn all three in order?
No. The objects tell three parts of the DPL Perform story, but All-Star and International are separate selection opportunities. A player may receive a Pin and later be selected for one opportunity, both opportunities or neither.
Which Players Can Participate?
Eligible DPL players may enter the process through their club’s nomination and the applicable DPL identification procedures. Eligible age groups and opportunities may vary by event and season and will be communicated by the DPL.
Identification
HOW DOES A PLAYER ENTER THE IDENTIFIED-PLAYER POOL?
Club coaches or directors submit eligible players through the DPL Perform nomination process. A nomination tells the DPL which players the club believes should receive additional observation and consideration.
WHAT DOES RECEIVING A GOLD PIN MEAN?
Receiving a Gold Pin means the player has been identified by her club and entered into the DPL Perform player pool. It is recognition of the nomination, not confirmation of an All-Star or International selection.
WHAT QUALITIES ARE CONSIDERED?
Coaches and evaluators may consider technical ability, tactical understanding, decision-making, athletic qualities, competitiveness, consistency, positional qualities, response to coaching, team contribution and overall influence on the game.
ARE PLAYERS EVALUATED BY POSITION?
Yes. Nominations may identify goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and attackers. Evaluation recognizes that a player’s contribution and responsibilities will differ according to her position.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A PLAYER RECEIVES A PIN?
The player becomes part of the season-long DPL Perform identification pool. She may be observed at eligible DPL events and considered using other available performance information throughout the season.
WHO EVALUATES PLAYERS AT DPL EVENTS?
Independent DPL evaluators observe identified players while they compete with their club teams. This provides an additional perspective beyond the original club nomination.
IS SELECTION BASED ON GOALS AND ASSISTS?
No. Statistics are only one part of evaluation. Evaluators consider the player’s complete contribution, including technical, tactical, physical, psychological, positional and team-related qualities.
CAN A PLAYER BE EVALUATED MORE THAN ONCE?
Yes. DPL Perform is an ongoing identification process. Eligible events and available match footage can provide multiple opportunities for a player to be observed throughout the season.
PLAYER INSIGHTS
WHAT ROLE DOES SCISPORTS PLAY?
SciSports supports the analysis of available eligible match footage, adding another perspective to coach nominations and live DPL scouting. This helps create a more complete season-long view of player performance.
WHY ARE MATCH UPLOADS IMPORTANT?
Clubs and coaches are required to upload league-game footage as part of the DPL process. Consistent uploads provide more eligible footage for analysis and create a stronger body of information around nominated players.
DOES SCISPORTS REPLACE LIVE SCOUTING?
No. SciSports-supported analysis complements coach nomination and live event scouting. DPL Perform combines these perspectives rather than relying on only one evaluation method.
WHAT HAPPENS IF A TEAM DOES NOT UPLOAD FOOTAGE?
Only properly submitted and available footage can be included in the season-long analysis. Missing footage may reduce the information available to support the evaluation of players on that team. Families should direct upload questions to their coach or club director.
WHAT IS THE DIGITAL GOLD PIN?
The digital Gold Pin is a marker connected to a nominated player’s SciSports profile. It identifies that player as part of the DPL Perform player pool and supports discoverability within the platform.
CAN COLLEGE COACHES DISCOVER PLAYERS THROUGH SCISPORTS?
DPL Perform is designed to create additional collegiate visibility by connecting eligible player profiles, available footage and performance information. Access remains subject to SciSports platform permissions, available data and approved functionality.
WILL PLAYER RANKINGS BE PUBLISHED?
No public raw player rankings or private performance scores will be used as marketing content. Public DPL Perform communication will focus on recognition, participation and opportunity.
HOW DOES SCISPORTS SUPPORT ALL-STAR SELECTION?
Season-long SciSports-supported analysis helps inform two player positions per All-Star roster. This adds a data-supported perspective to coach nomination and live DPL scouting.
SELECTION OPPORTUNITIES
HOW ARE PLAYERS SELECTED FOR THE ALL-STAR EXPERIENCE?
DPL considers coach nomination, live event observation, position, consistency, overall performance and available SciSports-supported insight. Final selections are based on the standards and needs of each roster.
DOES RECEIVING A PIN GUARANTEE ALL-STAR SELECTION?
No. The Gold Pin recognizes nomination and entry into the identified-player pool. All-Star selection is a separate decision.
WHAT DOES THE ALL-STAR PATCH REPRESENT?
The Patch recognizes a player who has been selected for and participated in the DPL All-Star experience. It is separate from the Gold Pin and International Pennant.
HOW ARE PLAYERS CONSIDERED FOR INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES?
Players within the identified pool may be considered based on performance, position, consistency, overall qualities, roster needs and their ability to meet the standards of the specific International experience.
CAN A PLAYER BE SELECTED INTERNATIONALLY WITHOUT PLAYING IN THE ALL-STAR GAME?
Yes. All-Star and International are separate opportunities. A player does not have to participate in the All-Star game to remain eligible for International consideration. However, it is strongly advise to accept an All Star spot if offered.
DOES ALL-STAR SELECTION GUARANTEE AN INTERNATIONAL INVITATION?
No. The All-Star experience provides another opportunity to be evaluated, but participation does not guarantee International selection.
WHAT IF A PLAYER CANNOT ATTEND THE ALL-STAR GAME?
The player may decline the invitation. Declining or being unable to attend the All-Star game does not automatically remove the player from International consideration but players performing in the game will have another opportunity to impress the scouts and also participate in the Media Day on site.
CAN A PLAYER ACCEPT ONE OPPORTUNITY AND DECLINE ANOTHER?
Yes. Families can accept or decline each invitation according to the instructions and deadlines provided. Declining one experience does not guarantee or automatically exclude the player from another opportunity.
WHAT CAN PLAYERS DO TO IMPROVE THEIR CHANCES?
Players should focus on consistent performance, good decision-making, technical execution under pressure, positional understanding, competitiveness, coachability, reliability and being a positive teammate.
HOW WILL FAMILIES KNOW IF A PLAYER IS SELECTED?
The DPL and/or the player’s club will communicate official selections and next steps. Families should rely on official communication for invitations, acceptance deadlines, travel requirements, costs and program details.
ARE TRAVEL COSTS INCLUDED?
Costs and inclusions may vary by experience. Families will receive applicable pricing, payment requirements, travel expectations and deadlines with the official invitation.
WHAT DOES THE QR CODE ON THE GOLD PIN DO?
The QR code connects players to the approved DPL Gold Pin content experience, where they may celebrate and share their recognition. Submitted content remains subject to parent or guardian consent, media permissions and DPL review.
